18 Crypto Companies Hiring Senior Technical Roles Right Now

RT

RareTalent Team

The junior Web3 dev role is basically dead.

If you’ve been watching hiring over the last year, it’s pretty obvious: protocols are not posting junior roles the way they used to.

The reasons are straightforward. In 2023/24, crypto was flooded with money. That wave has pulled back. At the same time, one strong senior engineer with a $200 Claude subscription can now do work that might previously have taken a small team of juniors.

That doesn’t mean hiring has stopped. It has just become more selective and much less visible.

Instead of posting broadly on job boards and filtering through thousands of AI slop, the best companies are hiring through their own websites, X, internal recruiters, and external recruiters in some cases. Which means unless you are checking the right companies directly, you probably won’t see the roles.

We looked across top L1s, L2s, DeFi, stablecoins, prediction markets, infrastructure, and security to find the crypto companies still hiring senior technical talent right now.

The Holy Trinity

1. Consensys

The company behind MetaMask, Infura, Truffle, and Linea. MetaMask is expanding beyond a wallet into payments, real-world spending through the MetaMask Card, fiat on-ramps and prediction markets. The team is hiring across product and platform engineering, with 15 open roles.

  • Roles hiring for: MetaMask Engineering Manager - MetaMask (Assets), Senior Software Engineer - MetaMask Card, Senior Staff DevOps Engineer - MetaMask
  • Hiring regions: Remote - US, Canada, LATAM, EMEA

2. LayerZero Labs

The current open roles suggests they’re focused on hardening the core protocol ‘Zero’, while expanding into institutional and regional markets. If you love low-level systems, security, or scaling decentralization to enterprise grade, this is catnip.

3. OpenZeppelin

OpenZeppelin is the industry standard in smart contract security. The company is hiring elite security researchers to work on formal verification, multi-chain libraries across EVM, Sui, Cairo, and Rust, AI-assisted tooling, and new open-source primitives.

Stablecoins

Stablecoins are the clearest real use case in crypto. Regulation is getting clearer, big financial players are paying attention, and there’s still a lot of infrastructure left to build.

Monad is the highest-performance EVM Layer 1s in production, combining Solana-like speed with the Ethereum developer experience. Mainnet launched at the end of 2025, and 2026 is focused on adoption. The team is lean, the bar is high, and hiring is targeted.

  • Roles hiring for: Senior Software Engineer (Compiler), Smart Contract Engineer, Senior Researcher - Mechanism Design
  • Hiring regions: Hybrid - New York, Remote - Global
  • Careers: https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/category-labs

7. Offchain Labs | Arbitrum

Arbitrum is the leading Layer 2 by TVL. Major institutions including Robinhood, Franklin Templeton and BlackRock are already building on it.

Stylus is a key part of the story, letting developers write smart contracts in Rust, C, and C++ alongside Solidity. These contracts run in a second VM next to the EVM and interoperate with Solidity contracts, making it easier for Web2 engineers to build in Web3 with familiar languages.

Global trading volume reached roughly $64B in 2025, up more than 400% from 2024. That growth is driving demand across engineering, data science and product. The next 12–24 months look like a good window to enter while the market is still being shaped.

Final takeaway

These companies are in the top tier of Web3 engineering and security.

Most roles require at least 4–5 years of production-level experience. Frequent job changes over a short period (within 2-3 years), are usually a red flag. To even get an interview, you typically need to have shipped or secured products handling eight-figure TVL, communicate clearly, and show strong culture fit.

And once you get that interview? The process is usually long, demanding, and hard to pass. Most candidates do not make it through.

But if you do, you're operating in the highest percentile of web3 developers and auditors in the world today.
